Summary

To compile and present a comprehensive dataset of tropical Asian butterfly occurrences.
To generate single-species distribution maps for a significant number of species.
To identify under-sampled areas and predict regions of high butterfly diversity.

Aggregated 730,190 occurrence records from GBIF, literature, databases, and unpublished data for 3,752 species.
Generated single-species distribution maps for 1,576 species.
Analyzed distribution data to identify sampling gaps and predict diversity hotspots.

A substantial dataset of tropical Asian butterfly occurrences was created.
Distribution maps were produced for 1,576 species.
Areas like Myanmar and New Guinea were identified as under-sampled, while Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo were predicted as high-diversity zones.

The compiled dataset and distribution maps are valuable resources for studying Asian butterfly biogeography.
The findings support targeted sampling efforts and biodiversity hotspot identification.
This work provides a foundation for conservation planning and evaluation of tropical Asian insects.
